Abstract
1. Investment Casting: This is a method used to produce high-precision, high-quality metal components. It is characterized by castings that maintain stable shapes and dimensions, with superior surface quality. There are three distinct techniques within investment casting: single-crystal investment casting, polycrystalline investment casting, and conventional investment casting.
2. Die Casting: This process involves forcing molten metal into a mold under high pressure to produce castings with precise shapes and dimensions. It is characterized by stable dimensional accuracy, smooth surface finishes, and a high first-time yield, making it ideal for manufacturing wide, thin-walled components—commonly used in the production of automotive parts.
3. Injection Molding: Also known as die-casting copper, this process involves injecting molten metal into a mold under high pressure, followed by rapid cooling and solidification to create highly precise castings. It is ideal for producing small to medium-sized components, as well as intricate parts or precision castings that would be difficult to achieve using conventional casting methods.
4. Lost-wax casting: This process involves coating a wax pattern with ceramic or other materials to create a mold, which is then used to pour the molten metal into the desired shape. Its key advantages include the ability to produce castings with intricate internal structures and exceptionally high dimensional accuracy, making it ideal for manufacturing high-demand automotive components, aerospace equipment, and medical devices.
5. Metal sand casting: Using alloy materials designed for casting, sand cores or molds are created, and then molten metal is poured into them. Once the casting has cooled, it is carefully removed. This process produces castings with high precision, excellent surface quality, and no internal gaps.
